March Favorites in Music, Movies, and Fun Stuff

It’s officially spring! While the pollen count here in Georgia is doing a number on our family’s seasonal allergies, I’m loving the flowering trees and the warmer temps.

So what are my favorites as we enter spring? Here are a few.

MUSIC

Louis-Armstrong-e-Ella-Fitzgerald

I love jazz, specifically jazz from the 1940’s and 50’s. Right now my go-to music is the Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong station on Pandora. I love to let it play while I’m cooking dinner or to light candles later in the evening and have it softly in the background.

MOVIES

Cinderella

Even though the film Cinderella has come under scrutiny for the lead character’s tiny waist, I really enjoyed this movie. So much so that I saw it twice. First, at an advanced screening here in Atlanta. Second, when I took my four girls to see it opening day. If you want to hear my thoughts on it, you can read the review I wrote here.

FUN FINDS

IKEA’S RETSAM Door Handle Plates

While shopping at our local IKEA this week, I came across these door hangers. I picked up three packs.

With four girls in the house — two of them tweens (a.k.a. “emotional”) — these door hangers come in handy. At our house, sometimes a girl just needs some time alone and these are a creative way to easily communicate it to her sisters. I also clearly explained to them that the mad and sassy faces mean “I’m feeling upset right now. I need some time to calm down.” They aren’t meant to be used to be “mean girls” to one another.

The best part is that it’s a four pack (and since each is double sided that means eight design options) for 99 cents! My only regret is that I didn’t buy a pack for myself.

So there you have it. A quick run down of my March favorites. What about you? What are some of your favorites this month?
