Do your kids like all of the same things that you do? If your children are anything like mine or like Chummy on the BBC series Call the Midwife, I’m guessing the answer is no.
I have four daughters and the older they get, the more they come into themselves as unique individuals with interests and desires that differ from mine.
And you know what?
That’s a good thing. God designed them to be uniquely them … not mini versions of me or Ted.
Today I’m over at For the Family exploring how we, as parents, can better connect with our kids’ quirks and be intentional not to let differing interests keep us from making relational connections. (And, yes — all you fellow Call the Midwife fans — I may just talk about Chummy and her mother in my post.) You can read “3 Ways to Connect with Your Kids’ Quirks” here.
After you’ve read, I’d love for you to leave me a comment, sharing ways you encourage your child to be uniquely them!
